# Connectors

> Connectors bring records, files, and events from external systems into Flowglad. Learn how Connections, source-grounded work, and their lifecycle work.

Connectors bring records, files, and events from external systems into Flowglad. They give agents and teams a consistent way to work with client data across ledgers, payroll, banking, email, spreadsheets, practice-management tools, and browser-accessed applications.

**Connectors** is the account-level catalog of supported providers and access products. A **Connection** is one configured provider instance that can be exposed to Spaces and used by their Pages and Automations. Open the **organization menu** → **Connectors** to browse providers and configure a Connection.

## Connect a provider

Before you start, make sure you have access to the provider account you want to connect and permission to add Connections to the target Space.

You can start from a Space or from the Connectors catalog.

### From a Space

1. Open the Space and select the **Connections** tab.
2. Click **New Connection**.
3. Choose the provider from the connector catalog.
4. On the connector detail view, click **New Connection**.
5. Complete the provider's sign-in or credential form.
6. Configure the data scope. Providers without scope settings, such as QuickBooks, show a confirmation of the account and Space instead.
7. Click **Save**.

### From the Connectors catalog

1. Open the **organization menu** → **Connectors** and find the provider in **Browse**.
2. Open the provider and click **New Connection**.
3. Complete the provider's sign-in or credential form.
4. Choose the Space that should use this Connection. If you have permission, you can click **Create Space** to create one.
5. Configure the data scope, or confirm the account and Space.
6. Click **Save**.

The Connection is available to the Space only after you click **Save**. If you cancel after authorizing, Flowglad keeps the authorized account in the connector's account list without adding it to a Space. To use the same account in another Space, open the account and click **New** in its **Connected Spaces** section. Each Space gets its own independent scope.

## Connector responsibilities

A connector can provide:

* Authorization and connection lifecycle management
* Provider-specific reads and writes
* Identity and scope information for the connected account
* Normalized records and events for search, analysis, and automations

## Source-grounded work

Connector data remains tied to its source. When Flowglad uses a connected record in analysis or an action proposal, reviewers should be able to understand which system supplied the evidence.

## Connection lifecycle

Authorization and connection availability are separate concerns. Revoking an authorization can make its connections unavailable while preserving their configuration and Space exposure. Reconnecting can restore access without rebuilding the workspace setup.

Use the current **Browse** catalog under **organization menu** → **Connectors** as the source of truth for supported providers. A provider absent from Browse has no self-serve native Connector. Depending on the work, use [Browser](/docs/browser-use) or add source files to the relevant Space instead.
