Templates are ready-made starting points for common business workflows. A template bundles the resources a workflow needs so you can add them to a Space at once instead of building each one yourself.

What a template contains

Each template lists its Included Components. A component can be one of these resources:
  • Skills: reusable instructions. Skills belong to your organization and do not require a Space. See Skills.
  • Automations: scheduled or triggered work. Automations belong to the Space you apply the template to. See Automations.
  • Applications: apps that belong to the Space you apply the template to.
  • Files: standalone file copies saved to the root of the Space.
A template can also list Suggested Connections (Optional). These are the outside systems, such as a CRM or email provider, that the template’s resources work best with. You can set up connections later. See Connectors. Some templates contain instructions only and have no resources to apply.

Browse and preview templates

Open Templates in Flowglad. Search the catalog or select Filter to narrow results by type or category. You can also browse the public template catalog. Select a template to open its preview. The preview has two tabs:
  • Details shows the template summary and each included component with its name and type.
  • Implementation walks you through applying the template.

Apply a template

Before you start, you need:
  • An agent connected to Flowglad through MCP. See MCP.
  • Access to the Space where you want the template’s resources. Templates with Automations, Applications, or Files require an existing Space. See Spaces.
On the Implementation tab, complete the three steps:
  1. Connect MCP Flowglad checks for your MCP connection. When it finds one, the step shows Connected through and the name of your agent. If no connection exists, select Connect MCP to open Settings → MCP in a new tab and set one up. If the check fails, select Retry Connection Check.
  2. Select Space Choose the Space that should own the template’s resources. Select Change to pick a different Space. If you don’t have access to any Spaces, go to Spaces to create one or ask for access.
  3. Copy Prompt Select Copy Prompt and paste the prompt into your connected agent. If clipboard access fails, select the prompt text and copy it manually.
The prompt tells your agent to call the templates.apply MCP tool with the template and Space you chose. It looks like this:
For the tool’s arguments and behavior, see Apply a template on the MCP page.

After you apply a template

Your agent confirms that creation was queued. Flowglad creates the resources in the background, so they can take a moment to appear. Ask your agent to check them with its resource tools, or open the Space in Flowglad.
  • Each apply creates new copies. Applying the same template again, including a retry, creates another set of resources. Don’t ask your agent to apply the template again to check progress.
  • Resources stay inactive. Flowglad does not activate or run applied resources. Review each one, then verify or activate it when you’re ready.
  • Results can be partial. If one component fails, the components that succeeded remain. Check which resources were created before you try again.
  • Files never overwrite. Each File is saved at the Space root with its configured filename. If a file with the same name already exists, that File fails and the conflict is reported. Other components continue.
  • Connections may need setup. Your agent recommends existing connections that fit, or suggests creating one. Resources that need a connection wait until you configure it.

Start from a Skill template

To copy a single Skill instead of a full template, use Skill Templates on the Skills page. See Start from a Skill template.
